Located on the banks of the Tagus River in Toledo, Spain sits The Torreón del Baño de la Cava. This World Heritage monument is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike. It is surrounded by the legend of Florinda La Cava, the daughter of a Visigoth nobleman, whose story is said to have launched the Moors occupation of Spain. Although it is an inviting attraction during the day, when shadows fall at night it is rendered invisible.

The city of Toledo has been incorporating LED lighting into its monuments for many years. The energy-efficient lighting not only highlights the intricate architectural details but also provides engaging lighting that draws people to these destinations. In 2015, the City installed a new LED lighting system at The Torreón del Baño de la Cava to beautify the landscape and to create a nighttime destination that would attract more visitors and increase tourism.

The city also wanted the ability to control the lighting content remotely so they would have the ability to create light shows to reflect holidays and special events, or react to local and world events, without having to send a technician to the site.

The city has already benefited greatly from the new lighting installation. According to the local Tourist Bureau, tourism in the city increased by 17% during the recent December holiday season. This increase is attributed to many recent initiatives by the city, including the use of more artistic lighting at sites like The Torreón del Baño de la Cava.
